Lyle sits in the heart of the Klickitat Valley, roughly halfway between the Columbia Gorge and the high desert. It's a place that rewards slow travel — and those willing to turn off the highway for twenty minutes of dirt road.

Getting Here Take WA-14 east from Hood River. Lyle is approximately 25 miles past the gorge. Turn onto Fish On Road — the last 0.5 miles is a maintained gravel road.
Seasons Open year-round. Spring brings salmon runs, summer is peak floating season, autumn paints the valley gold, and winter offers solitude unlike anywhere else in the state.

We came for a long weekend and left with no desire to return to anything that isn't this place. The cabin was exactly as described — warm, quiet, and perfectly positioned. We sat on the porch every evening with a glass of wine and watched the river do what it's done for millennia. That's the kind of memory you can't put a price on.
